Hello,
If anyone could please provide feedback on a problem I'm having I would greatly appreciate it. I will try to be as descriptive as possible when discussing the issue, and if you need any further information to help troubleshoot feel free to ask.
I have a 1995 Eclipse GS M/T. The car starts and runs perfect one the first attempt. However, once I drive the vehicle and the engine reaches operating temperature and shut the car off it will not always start again. The fuel pump does come on, the car does turn over, it just will not start. The two options I have to start the car again is (1) disconnect the battery cables for 5-10 minutes to reset the ECU or (2) I can wait 30+ minutes and the car will start again just fine. I have already replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, ECU, and coolant temperature sensor. All the wiring is intact, all the sensors are getting power, and all the parts are in perfect working order. The only thing that I could see causing the problem at this point would be the ECU. Is there a difference in a programmed ECU that you can buy from Autozone v.s. one you buy from a Mitsubishi Dealership? I wouldn't think so but I could be wrong. It just seems like the crank sensor and cam sensor are not synching up and its causing this problem. I have the option to take the car to the dealership and have the ECU flashed and reprogrammed for $100.00, but I don't want to throw away $100 bucks and then not resolve the issue. If anyone has encountered something similar and was able to troubleshoot the problem I would really appreciate you sharing.
Respectfully,
