Quick question, I have a 95 gs-t and recently did a 6 bolt swap. Currently i'm running
Big 16 turbo, FMIC, 525 injectors, greddy 3'' exhaust system, slowboy racing manifold, 38mm wastegate, walbro 255 fuel pump and turbo xs rfl bov.
I've been using a SAFC 2 to tune the car. After reading about the chips i'm interested in them but I want to make sure it offers what i'm looking for.
My car is 100% streetable but i'm more into racing at the tracks on pump gas, does these chips give me a better tune to race on than me hiring a tuner to tune my SAFC-2?.
My tuner always tell me to buy a dsm link or aem system but i'm comfortable with what I have and using what I have for now, plus i never listen so he just tunes my car with what I have.
So what is better to give me more power, a dsm chip or a SAFC-2 or they are the same?, also with the chips do they read out over 300hp if you dyno the cars after with them installed?
As you can see, i'm just looking for the best way to make more power without buying a dsm link or aem management system.

Thanks DGajre777, I really appreciate the help...I tried to get in contact with AndyMoratis but didnt know he stopped using the forum but you answered all my questions though..

I have a stage 3 keydiver chip and i love it. i basically didnt have time or money to be tuning the car, so i thought this was my best and safest option at the time. With the chip you still need to purchase a logger so you can know for sure what is going on with your car. A SAFC is also recomended, even by keydiver, to have to make fine tuning since every car is different. Looking back at it now, and im not knocking keydiver whatsoever, i would have gone with DSMLink. It give you a live tuning program and datalogger all in one. If you really do not want DSMlink, yes the chip would be great for you.

It AGGRAVATES me to see poeple cant spell "Aggervating", I think your AGGRAVATING yourself. Next time ad to the thread like rarson did...If something AGGRAVATES you or is AGGRAVATING YOU simply dont bother to reply. Leave the thread for people who are willing to assist in any way possible. The time you took to write a response you could of helped someone else with a problem they was having.

:tease: Wow, ROFL ok I will try to form something that is as helpful as possible just to follow the rules that apply. Since you are so smart I'm sure the you now look back and see that you are the little nugget that misspelled more than you wrote. If you enjoy trying to point out mistakes why not take a look at your first post? (posted below and highlighted some of the mistakes)

For the informative part of my post I will provide the information that you could have easily found by searching the vendors website.

Pulled from KEYDIVER Chips - DSM ECU Tuning

Q: Do I have to use an AFC with my chip?

A: Generally, yes. Although the changes I make to the Global Fuel and MAS Compensation get VERY close, and make it easier to tune, it is still recommended that you have some tunability, such as an Air-Fuel computer or a GOOD adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. In addition, every car is different, so you may require more/less fuel depending on your situation

Q: Do I need an AFC or a piggy back system when I have installed the upgraded chip?

A: A lot depends upon the level of your mods, and how much boost you are trying to run. Although the changes I make to the Global Fuel and MAS Compensation are very close, making it much easier to tune, it is still recommended that you have some form of tuneability, such as an Air Fuel Computer or a GOOD adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. Do you run different octane fuels at times? Do you have an upgraded fuelpump, but stock FPR? Running >20 psi of boost on pumpgas?

For a short answer, If you have a good tune now and seem to be flowing some nice numbers for your setup then you may see no power increase with a chip. If the chip is used during drag racing then you should see a few tenths fall off your passes being that you have a few extra features such as stutterbox & NLTS.

From the scrambled words at the end of your first post I also put them in order and realized that you were asking weither or not the chip would still be working after 300hp.

Pulled from KEYDIVER Chips -TMO chips

1) The TMO chips always had STOCK timing and openloop AFR maps, whereas my chips are fully customizable to whatever octane fuel you run, your compression ratio, or stroke. These leaner maps will make more power, and the improved timing can GREATLY increase the amount of boost you are able to run on pumpgas. Most of my 1G chips feature expanded timing and openloop AFR maps. The factory maps topped out at ~15psi of boost. So, when you turn up the boost, an ECU with a stock or TMO chip is still trying to use timing advance intended for much less boost, limiting the amount of boost you can run because of knock issues. My chips will continue to adjust the timing as high as 24 or more psi of boost.

Also

4) One feature Todd didn't offer was removal of the airflow cap. Only recently discovered, the 1G ECU caps the airflow at a value that roughly equated to 450 HP. When the ECU sees any amount of airflow beyond that, it substitutes a fixed, maximum value for the real amount of airflow, which will cause your injector pulsewidth to plateau, which will lean you out. My chips always remove this cap.

Got a friend who's been using Keydiver chips for a while, along with an SAFC. She's very close to if not passing 400WHP in her Evo 3 and has nothing bad to say about them.
