Oshawa,
Everything that came up was the kit for the 2Gs, so I'm just wondering what the quality is like for the 1G? Anyone have any real issues with these kits? I'm not running a lot of power, only about 300awhp, little less, but I want colder air, and I was just wondering if these kits can take the boost from a 14B or a 16G turbo without cracking, and what have people's experiences been with them?

Also, do you know if a Greddy Type-S BOV will fit on their stock flange?

thank you

It will be sufficient for your set up for sure. Many people are running larger turbos and not having problems from it. You definitely cannot beat the price for what you get with the kit. And it won't work with the greddy flange; I have the type rs BOV and i bought a greddy aluminum flange for it.

awesome thanks! I'll buy the greddy flange for it too, it's not that expensive, just woulda worked out well if it was a direct bolt on! Thanks for the quick response, I'll be ordering this intercooler kit on Monday :)

They are pretty nice kits for the price. Im running one and have no issues. The cheap pipes like to rust a little but if you keep them clean your fine. They are long route but perform great.

Holy cow, thats the definition of long route. Thats a ridiculously large core.

This is why i dont like these kits, you cant beat the price though.

They are fine but some of the kits come with unbeaded piping which is useless, some kits the couplers are shit.

But its ebay quality, you get what you pay.

If you buy it it should be fine.

Just an FYI you can make a greddy fit a 1g flange. Just drill new holes

The piping on these kits are never beaded. Its not an issue, if they pop off you can always flare them, weld a bead or do what I do and use hair spray. They hold to 25psi no issue. Also the couplers are fine, but the tbolt clamps can break.

The extra long piping actually does cause to much of an issue. I hit 15psi on my 16g by 3200rpm and about 20+psi by 3600rpm. Its actually been proven the extra piping only takes a fraction of a second to push through the extra piping and is not even noticable. Short route is for bragging rights.

ive been rocking this intercooler kit for 2 years now through 2 minnesota winters and its held up great. Ive been able to use it with my 13g, 16g, and 50 trim. Ive been able to use it with my stock maf and also when i went to maft. i think its a great kit

I don't mean to thread jack but has anyone ever thought about cutting the hot-side piping just after the bend. then clocking the half of the pipe thats connect to the intercooler and using the left-over half of the pipe to fab up a 90 degree bend right into a downward facing turbo (or j pipe)? that way the hot side wouldn't be as long and you wouldn't have it coming around the front of the intercooler?

I own a shop in Wisconsin and buy from ssautochrome all the time as some of my customers cannot afford a $4k kit, so for the price they are great. And yes you will have pressure leaks and blow the pipes off if you dont weld beads around the tube ends to hold the hoses on.

A lot of people DIS them all the time, but I have used their parts and kits for 7 years now with no failures. A few times in the past I have been short parts in the kit, but when I wrote them they sent double what I needed right away, like I was short on clamps and hose ends and they would send me twice what I had missing.

Mike...

i have this kit and i cant complain about it, but i am going to short route the piping for my new 60-1 and i hope the core can handle it..atleast for a little while
