I'm looking to swap an 04 srt-4 motor and trans. into a 1991 laser. I have heard of it somewhere before but I can't find the info. Does anyone know of mounts for this? Has it been done before? I know fab work is involved but i'm willing, just curious if anyone had motor mounts to save me some time. Anyone have advice, ideas, or opinions, let me know,
Thanks,
A.J.

I dont think anyone here is gonna be eager about helping swap a SRT-4 motor.

Turbo 4g63 is better in my opinion. If you want an SRT-4 motor buy and SRT-4 and join their forums :dsm:

nobody has motor mounts, it's a silly thing to do.

The 2G NT has the same style engine, I'm not sure if everything bolts up or not.

In a 1G it's probably as easy/hard as swapping in a V8 or any other crazy swap like that.

Its fun to swap engines into different chassis' and all that $$$ but you really arent going to get the support for that here.

I know fab work is involved but i'm willing,

You make it sound like its easy and/or cheap. If youre behind the welder, its not easy and if youre behind the wallet, its not cheap.

Sigh, to be young again.

I don't want to buy an srt-4, anybody can buy a car. I want to build something different. Anyone else that can help me out?

Dont do it! 4g63 is a way better motor and is capable of so much more. If you really want to swap an srt4 motor into something swap it into an older neon.

But please dont deface a laser like that.

I can understand wanting something different, but this is sort of taking a step in the wrong direction. You could do a relatively easy swap to a 4G63T, but instead want to do a harder, less potential swap. I would imagine no one makes conversion mounts for this swap. It would most definitely be a custom job that would take a good degree of experience to tackle.
