420A Can I Swap mounts?

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. I want to swap the engine mounts so I can use a 4g63 engine. What would I need to do or how much money it would cost?
I've seen this question asked quite a few times, and looked into it myself before owning an Eclipse. Essentially it will cost WAY more money than its worth. Both engines are sort of opposite if you would of each other. For example the transmission on the 4G63 is on the drivers side while the 420a is on the passenger. You'd need to fabricate custom mounts, get a new trans, ETC, and probably a lot more. Honestly it'd be easier and cheaper to find a GS-T or GSX that needs some work.

My 4G63 tranny is on the passenger (right) side not the drivers side. May want to double check but anyway the 2 engines are oriented opposite to each other making swap a lot of work between the 2 different layouts.

I ment body parts my gs eclipse has no engine because my dad would let it overheat and blew something on it and then he died and it just sat there so Im gonna need an engine regardless. If I cant get the body do you have recommendations for an engine I could put in the gs?

Yes, the stock one... A 420a

The craigslist talon you posted is a turbo model. Look at the power steering lines on the drivers side and the cross member is closer to the passenger side. Both these items are opposite on a 420a bay.

My mistake, I haven't been up to my car in a long time. I knew they were opposite of each other and couldn't remember which was which side. Should have looked at my repair manual before replying.

I'm confused, do you have a turbo parts car currently?
If so, I'd find a turbo shell and buold a motor, great way to learn.

If u really want the gs, you could pick up and try to do a swap, but there's ALOT of fab to do for either swap. You could build it as a gs, but let's not open that can of worms.

I did a ton of research on this as well there is absolutely no reason to try to swap a 420a engine for a 4g63 engine.

Could it be done? Yes of Course they are several whom tried and from what is out there mostly they fail.

Should you? No, you can pick up a GST or GSX for around 2k-5k depending on condition and trim. Much cheaper overall.

As for the post on Craigslist it is a Turbo Chassis. If you could get that I would then go and find yourself a 4g63 Engine to drop in.

The Cosmetic parts are swap able. Shell parts like Panels and Spoilers etc. The interior Trim parts are able to be swapped.
