spyder roll cage??

i was wanting to know if the cages that are for the coupe will fit in a spyder?? and can we get some pics of cages in some spyders......

what I'm trying to say it most likely bolts to the car were the seat belt area is I'm wanting to know is if i can add metal to it to make it stronger???

Amen of that, I just don't understand why a convertible would need a roll cage! If you go as far as roll cage then it's not a DD and you shouldn't even have a convertible auto-x or drag car. But if the OP is just going for looks then why does he care about the protection. He could just fabricate a roll cage just by whatever looks cool.

You are totally and utterly wrong. Why can't a caged spyder be a DD?

If anyone thinks a roll cage doesn't offer any protection they're morons. "Oh I'd rather flip my car and have my head smash in the pavement than have a roll cage protect me". It's not illegal, though it may attract cops. You also dont have to have a helmet unless your head would be sticking through the roof because, as you see, the roll cage is well above the headrest.

If they didnt offer any protection then why would anyone have them?

Stick with your 1g, and stay away from giving roll cage suggestions because they are completely invalid.

On another note, the light bar on the red eclipse makes it look like a mustang wanna be.

you sir are a jack ass. go tell "gixxrdrew" Andrew Brillant that you shouldnt have a spyder as an auto-x car. This is also the person who has proven that the aerodynamics of a spyder are better than a hard top. He is also one who took his spyder and started placing from the start in racing. But as far as opinions go you are deffinitely entitled to yours.

now for every one else who is actually interested in a roll cage in a spyder.
most custom fabrication places can hook you up. More high end shops that do alot of custom fabrication for race crews probably even build to spec to pass regulations.

Here's 2 links I'm looking at for buying one already built. Some are bolt in but the weld in ones should be stronger assuming your floor panels arent rusting through.
