Spyder Spyder GS won't idle or stalls with AC off

We just picked up a 98 Spyder GS AT for our daughter. The car runs pretty good but dies when coming to a stop. If the AC is on everything is fine. It idles perfect and runs great.
Everything I've found in the searches are exactly opposite of this problem.
Since it isn't a turbo motor it should be pretty easy but I can't figure it out.
I replaced the fuel filter yesterday and that had no effect at all.
Voltage maybe?
 
I can't find enough information to give you extremely helpful information, but I'd check the IAC to make sure it's working properly. Since idle conditions change when the AC is on in an attempt to keep the car from stalling out due to the increased engine load I could see how the IAC could function fine only with the AC on. However I don't truly know how the 420a's IAC works, and can't find any information on it. So this is just a guess based off of a couple minutes of quick searching.

It could also be a vacuum leak, if you don't know how to check for that it's simple. Just spray carb cleaner anywhere there might be a leak, if the idle changes you found a leak. But I HIGHLY recommend doing this on a COLD engine, it IS possible to set your engine on fire from doing this no matter what anyone tells you. IT DOES HAPPEN! The odds are very very, low with the engine being cold, to the point of being almost nonexistent.



*edit* I feel as though I should add this, even though I doubt it is relevant. On many Nissan's the grounds are poorly done, on occasion the AC will actually provide a ground for the peddle sensor. This is common on the 350z.

He has a 4g64 not a 420a...

Ive seen this happen at the Mitsubishi dealership a long time ago when they were "showing me something". Long story short the idiot technician caused a huge flame of fire to spit out in front of me,the sales guy and the other technicians standing around. They went running and screaming.

Thanks guys, that give me a few things to check.
Hopefully it will be something easy.
I've learned that there are very few things on this car that are easy. Everything is just so tight in there.
