ok iv got a 96 gst. i spun a rod bearing and really screwed up my crank. during the tear down found the flywheel and the clutch shot! i think the guy befor me put a ebay clutch in :barf: ... anyways i had a hell of a time getting the crank out. but i also noticed that the rod i spun it on, the cap was really hard to take off i think the knocking put this baby way out of round. so ive been saving for the new parts

Fidanza flywheel
Fidanza 2.1 clutch
Prothan mounts
Topline gasket set
Acl tri metal rod and main bearings
B/S eleminator
Eagel rods
Topline pistons
Topline crank

and i think thats it is it a good idea to put topline pistons on eagle rods? and ive hear that you need to have the rods looked at to make sure that they are not out of round. also just to be clear i need stand. bearings for the NEW crank? my goal is to make a powerful but very reliable engine but want to use the good stuff but not blow my wallet... thanks:dsm:

It sounds like you are on the right path for a mild build. The Topline pistons are pretty much stock replacement however they have a lower compression ratio of 8:0:1. The ACL's are also very good bearings, I am glad to see you are going with a tri-metal. The Fidanza clutch also isn't a bad choice if your are going for a mildly moded car. The Fidanza 2.1 is comparable to an ACT 2100. The Topline crank is also a decent piece as well. What are your power goals with this motor?

well my goal is about 350 or so. my dad has a corvett and i want to be faster then it LOL.. but is it worth the eagle rods or just get the stock ones? also just to be positive i would need standard bearing for the rods and the mains..
