Well I guess I'm doing an engine rebuild. I bought this car about a month ago for 400 bucks, it didnt run but it turned out it was just out of gas. I drove it about a week and other than needing a tune it ran perfect. While doing my timing belt and basic maintenance I decided to drop the oil pan due to it leaking. I found some metal shavings so after some digging this is what I found.
spun #3 bearing.
I really didnt want to do a complete overhaul yet but what can you do. For what I paid for the car I guess I really cant complain. My goal is 400HP at some point, so I'm just going to go with stock internals and do the 2G piston upgrade and call it good. At least thats what I'm thinking now
. From my understanding stock internals should handle that just fine. This car is really just something to do when Im bored and want to get away from the girlfriend for a few hours. Anyhow my question is, is it easier to pull the tranny with the engine or leave it in the car? At this point Im pretty much down to the block and crank so its not like I have a ton of stuff to pull off to get it out of the car. Ill post some pics as Im going thru the rebuild process

If it were up to me, I would change the upgrade paths because fuel cut blows.
