Where do you “probe” the oil temperature because 170 seem too low for my taste? Are you using the stock ’90 oil filter adapter with no modifications done to the cooler bypass valve?
How high are you “twisting” the engine that you don’t hit more than 100PSI or is it that you modified the pressure relief valve?

As far as coolant goes, I was wondering if that would help in case you would go with a front mount I/C. Do you really need to replace coolant after every race?

Pressure and temp probes both off adapter. Normal oil temps @ idle ranges are 160 - 190 if I remember. The press rel/vlv. is modified to lower pressures. High oil pressure at high RPMs reduces HP. Car on the dyno for an hour never reached o/ 150 water temp's w/ large fan blowing. I was even asked if I removed the thermostat? We did drill a series of 1/8" holes in the top of the thermostat for a better flow and cooler run.

I replace the Water Wetter and water after each race weekend. A weekend consists of about 2-1/2 hours of pedal to the metal runs, not including track time on Friday test day. Imagine pushing your car to it's max potential for that length of time, it definitely takes it's toll. Think about all the engine changes they make in NASCAR or F1, or constant rebuilds for drag racing. I'm still running on the same engine from last years championship, now that's a motor! and that's just on fluid changes only. I say if it works keep doing it! You can't get so hung up on the ultimate horsepower that you can run. I feel I have yet to push the car to it's fullest HP potential because of aerodynamic and suspension constraints. But we're constantly trying new things with a conservative approach. It all takes time, energy, and money just to gain a second on road course. I've had enough DNF's to last me a life time. It's no fun to watch, when you can be out there chasing or being chased by a yellow Porsche................................

We dealt with the camera today as a matter of fact. We WILL have a full video of the Buttonwillow race next month. Would I let you guys down? Just hope I don't get my butt kicked? (That would really suck!)
