looking for a tip on the best and safest way to split the large bearing end of an eagle rod, and please don't tell me to hit it with a hammer ....thanks

Hit it with a rubber hammer. Sorry but thats the best way to do it without putting marks on it and possibley hurting it.

thanks guys, i bought a proform rod splitter from summit it's 2.20 o.d. and the rods are alot smaller than that so I guess i'll try the rubber mallet
