well i just installed a new speaker in my drivers side door, the original didnt work, and this one doesnt either, so im guessing the wireing is bad... does anyone have any ideas of how i can rewire it? like which wire on the inside to pull on in order to get the new wireing i have attached to come through, or any ideas at all, i bought a hanyes manual online, so last resort i will replace the wireing the hard way.... (pictures doors off and me lost beyond belief about how to put them back on....)

Do you still run the orignal radio9cdplayer or whatnot)? If not then just rewire it.. trace the wire.. Its called troubleshooting. check for power at the end of hte wires to the speaker when the radio is on.. or jsut follow the wires back to the radio and put a new one on it.. or maybe check ur SETTING on the radio.. :boring:

you could also have a bad channel on your radio. The easiest thing to do would be to pull the radio out and "pop" the speaker wire with a 9 volt battery. All you need to do is find the wire for the speaker and put the ends of the wire to the positive and negative terminals on the battery, if that makes the speaker make a popping noise then you know its the radio.

Try that ^ first... Pull out your Haynes manual and find the wires on the plug. There's no need to cut any of them at this point, just stick two spare wires into the plug and attach your 9v battery (even a new AA will work). BTW, yes, remove the plug from the radio.

guess i should have mentioned, i just got a new sony mp3 cd player and i cut all the stock harnesses and attached the wires to the sony harness, and the passanger side speaker works, i dunno if the drivers side one worked with the old radio, im guessing not because ive tried rewireing that speaker 2 or 3 times now... all the connections are good.. so it must be the wire... i was hoping someone could just tell me something like: if you find where the wires coming from the door enter the car, pull on the yellow wire or something like that to get the wires out....also i dont have a haynes, i just ordered one, but it hasnt got here yet

ok so i just "popped" the speaker, at the speaker it worked, but from the radio harness it didnt... also the dash speaker did work, which uses the same posative wire for some period of time... if anyone could tell me how the car is wired that would be great, otherwise ill just wait til i get my haynes...

basically what i need to know is: does the posative wire split before the dash speaker, or does it go to the dash speaker and then from there to the door speaker, and what do the wires travel by, right now my lower dash and door panel and radio are off/out, so right now would be a good time to fix it as far as i can tell...

ok so i installed the other one, which works... although it was obvious that someone had opened the door panel before... i dont know why, but they tore about half the plastic off the door and a lot of other things were broken which explains a lot... i also found broken glass from when my car was broken into (before i owned it) but anyways, the passenger dash speaker doesnt work either, so i dont really care that much... because im sure that eventually i will end up replacing the wireing for all of the speakers... so i put my car back together...
