What for rear speakers?

Hey guys. I have a '97 Spyder GST, and stock rear 6x9 speakers. I was going to replace the stock rear speakers with the nice Infinity Kappa 695.2i, but after reading all the posts about the fitment, I figured I could only install them by hammering the wheel well, or trimming the bracket or crazy stuff. Anyone know if that's a 6x9 which will fit the stock rear panel easily with good quality? Or if I should go for a 6.5" ? I'm thinking about the Infinity Kappa 62.5i 2-Way Speaker with a Scosche SA69 6x9 to 6.5" speaker adapter. I really like the Kappas.

So Please let me know if you have any answers to my questions. I appreciate any helpful input. Thanks!

Thanks! I just took out the rear panel and measured the size of the 6x9 speaker. The whole speaker depth from magnet to the front is like 3 1/2", and the diameter of the magnet itself is 3". I'm not sure why a kappa 692.5i won't fit in there, as the mounting depth is only like 3 3/16" from the website, so am I being confused about the mounting depth and the depth I measured?
Also, anyone know the diameter of the 692.5i magnet? I saw that's still plenty of space there in the bracket. I attached a picture with the speaker taken out, not sure if it's the same as everyone's else as I think it's a lot of space there.

Please provide any information you might have. Thanks!

i have a spyder also and i cannot find a speaker that will fit.. i even got the planet audio uridium magnets (depth about 1/2 inch) and the lip on the 6x9's for some reason wont fit corectly.. im thinkin if they came with infinity's... might have to use infinitys

no us spyder owners got screwed over in that pos 6x9 bracket. the space behind is too shallow and narrow for a 6x9 magnet. me, i just ripped out the back seats and made a custom fiberglass box with 2 3.5" rockford 2ways, 2 audiobahn subs and a 1300w amp. those 3.5's sound more beautiful and crisp than any other speaker i have ever heard, and for 35 bucks i almost got sets of them, but decided that might be too much for the rear. heres some pics

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/509528/4 right now im repainting it, when i first made it i never took the time to sand it good, rushed it. came out crappy, so i covered it with vinyl. the vinyl peeled off over the course of 5 months, so i stripped it, and resanded it and took my time. tomorrow it gets painted again for the last time and i cant wait cause its next to perfect.
