I have a 99 Spyder. Trying to install new 6x9's in the rear but can't get them in flush with the factory mounts. Any suggestions? How are you guys fitting your speakers back there?

You can only fit 6x9 with small magnets. like kicker , infinity, etc.... or you can get a hammer and pount out the wheel well a little.........

I have infinity's. The magnets are monster size though. I don't know how I feel about pounding in the wheel well though...

Thats what i did with my pioneers.

go with 6 1/2s all your top stuff is behind that wheel well so i wouldn't go pounding on it

you can also remove the grills, and create key and push the speaker out from the opening, but then you need to replace the grill with the bootie (usually black) grill that came with the speakers. or just go custom mold some carbon fiber as your new mounting bracket, and the whole pannel. might be spendy, but would work.
