My spark plug wire is popping out. I thought it could have been the wires or the valve cover. When the car is on it will slowly move up then pop out. Of course this makes my car run like sh*t and I want it to stop. Everytime i drive my car i push it back in and while i drive maybe 5 minutes or sooner it's out again. Any clues????? Please help me soon. i'm about to buy either a new valve cover or wires, but I don't want to make the wrong choice. Anyone else experience this????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Also it's the spark plug wire closest to the timing belt and i did check the plugs and they are fine!!!!

get some dielectric grease and put it on the inside of the plug wire. that worked for me. now the plug wire is hard to get off

I had this happen on an old Corolla & just drilled a hole in the flange of the Rubber Boot / Spark Plug Hole Cover - The little Valve Cover Donut Gasket might be "tired" at that Spark Plug - Carefully re-torque your Valve Cover. I'd check / clean your PVC Valve too.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try what u guys have mentioned and go from there. Here's an email I have from a guy at a performance store. He mentioned something about the spark plug being cross threaded and compression leak. See if this makes sense to you guys!

ME:
LOL!!!! Yeah I guess that would eba cheap gasket! So having the spark plug cross threaded in the hole and the leak mean new cover??

HIM:
It means youre SOL man. Hard to rethread a spark plug hole with the head on the car. However, there are inserts for those kind of jobs for a so-called "quick fix".

Verify leakage there in that cylinder by merely squirting some water or chemtool down the hole with the plug installed. Have someone turn the motor over and see if you see bubbles around the plug. I wouldn't want you to start installing in a spark plug insert when actually it's something else. Hard to diagnose things in email ya know.

Let me know what you find bud.

So yeah this could really suck..but he did mention not to get lazy and just put the spark plug cover on b/c something is obviously causing this to happen and that could make the matter worst! So I'll do what you guys mentioned and hopefully this gets resolved. I'm trying to sell my car, but want it fixed first! AAwwwwww cars can be a pain in the ass!! :dsm:
