yea so my cars got like 100,000 miles on it, what are some good plugs to be using? i was thinkin bosh 4s but someone told me they would be bad for my car..

Thanks for the awsome links :thumb:

yes I searched but maybe I typed the search in a way it didn't like cause I got none of those threads :coy:

Either way thanks for clearing up my question :D

Hey guys... still trying to figure out what is wrong with my ride. My front tires used to spin like shit in 1st and a lot in 2nd as well... Now I don't get any spinning in 1st gear and instead get loud popps or backfiring and 2nd doesn't spin either. It's still fast but I don't get the power I used to. I checked for boost leaks and there aren't any. My one question is CAN BAD SPARK PLUGS DO THIS!!??

mabey. did you take them out and check the. replace them with a set of ngk's. mabey check you wires also.
I remember even taking it to my friends shop and said he wouldn't touch it because it was "sometihng in the wiring". thats a little a little vague though since Idon't know what to check in the wiring.

Please tell me you don't have any bosch platinum +4's in there. I had them in my car for 5 minutes before i pulled those out and promptly returned them. They made my car sputter and misfire badly. Your best bet is to replace the plugs with a fresh set of NGK's. If the problem persists, check your plug wires for any wear spots or burns.

thank u for the helpful advice :thumb:

Someone recommended that we get NGK 7 plugs, instead of the platinums that we currently have, to help a misfire problem. I'm just not sure which model is the best to get, though. I've found the model number BPR7ES given, which looks to be the standard plugs, but I've also seen people talk about the V-Power and Iridium. Which ones do you guys recommend, and why? Thanks!

Assuming your stock (update your profile if your not) you should be on the NGK BPR6ES's. There are countless threads out there on the matter, and generally the INFORMED consensus agrees that you should stick with those until they start treating you badly. An upgraded turbo with higher than stock boost levels does not mean you need a colder plug. Stuttering, misfires, and things along those lines are the indicators that you need a colder plug like the BPR7ES's. If you use the BPR7ES's on a car that doesn't need them, the only thing that you will accomplish is fouling the plugs faster.

If its any help i have iradium denso's and they really woke the car up, they helped alot and i can actually feel the differnce, but if you really wanted just take your plugs out and clean then with like a sandblaster or something plugs will last forever if you treat them right, but defintly look into denso iriduims

Your not even turbo, so it really doesn't matter what you use, stick with good old copper NGK no use paying 5-10 bucks on one plug that makes it run worse not better

I just bought some bosch platinum 4's gapped to .032 for my 93 talon tsi A/T, I do believe that is the right gap but ive seen on the forums that NGK's are recommended... Should i take the bosch's back and buy the NGK's? And at the auto store the .032 gap came up for the 2.0 motor but i dont think that it listed the turbo, is this the right gap?
thanks-ron

Most people here say about .028, but you can go as high as .032, the more boost, the smaller gap you want. I'd say .030 for stock boost, .028 for boosting like 18 lbs or higher, but it's up to you

Just do a serach on plug gap for further detail on that.

Yes, replace those plugs with NGK's! They are the best most reliable plugs for our cars.

Never run platinums on turbo DSM's. Never take the stores word on the gap of the plugs. Always check the gap before installing the plugs. You'll want to gap the to .028-.030. :thumb:

NGK BPR7ES aka el cheapo's are the way to go, just return your bosh ones and get the el cheapo, and go eat in some good restaurant with your girl since you'll get ALOT of money back...

go back to the store and ask for NGK BPR6ES's, if you are going to run over 15psi then go for the BPR7ES's
You've got it backwards. His car is stock. If he goes with 6's then he'll be changing his plugs every 6 months. They foul much more quickly than the 7's do. The 6's are a colder plug.

EXACTLY start with 7's and stick with 7's there is no exact PSI or HP when you need to switch to 6's......... your car after performance upgrades will let you know when to switch as every car is of course different....... and .03 is a good gap to go with. I personally run 6's at .028....... but done a little something to every part of the car. and like someone else said have a good dinner with your girl on the saved money, I've tried the "so-called" better plugs before I knew any better, and trashed them real quick!!!!

actually the 7 is the colder one, the 6 is the stock temperature. BUT ANYWAY'S get the 7 and stick with em

right, the 7 is the colder one. BUT, don't go with those unless you're running pretty high boost. otherwise you'll keep fouling them out. 6's are usually just fine for most people with basic mods. gap em at .028
