I have a 1997 gs eclipse with a 420a engine with a t3/t4 turbo I heard that the ngk spark plugs (BPR6ES or BPR7ES) are the best to go with. I just wanted to know what would be best to gap these at? I saw multiple threads with different responses.
Thanks In Advance,
-Brian

just gap them with the stock gapping.... look in the owners manual... or alot of plugs come pre gapped.... but your gonna need the whole msd ignition set up if your doing it... more spark=better

i thought the 420a used bkr6 or 7es depending on wether or not it had a turbo
and the gst's used the bpr6es

Too cold a plug will tend to foul in normal driving. That's part of why you want projected tip plugs, for better self-cleaning.

No plug is reliably pre-gapped. Always check them before installing.

.028" for turbo motors.

The BPR7ES will not work in the 420a engine the socket will not fit down the shaft to tighten the spark plug. What would be an ideal spark plug for a daily driver 420a with a t3/t4 turbo and front mount intercooler?

i am gona need to breakin my engine, i bought 420a two range colder plugs, but there not really ideal for breaking in, I have some NKG iridiums for the 420a when its n/t, could those be used to breakin? my break in will be done with 7psi. will those iridiums work for that psi tell its broken in?

I've read all over the forums that the gap should be .028", but in my haynes manual it says to gap them at .032". Who's right?

i belive for turbo 420a were suppose to use NGK Spark Plugs BKR7E(one range colder than stock, stock is BKR6E-11).they should also be gaped at about .032 to .035..i've been using the ngk bkr7e and had no problems gaped at .032.
