Hi everyone. Me and my dad recently rebuilt the head on my 92 talon n/t. We've put it back together and it's running, but we think only on 3 cylinders. The thought is that the plugs are put into the distributer ( i think its the distributer) wrong. Could somebody please help me out w/ the order that they are supposed to go, such as; cyl 1 goes to the hole closest to the engine block, cyl 2 goes to the next one and so on. Thanks for the help!

If you followed the manual like I did when I helped a friend with his N/T then it is wrong. I think if you rotate the plugs backwards 1 spot that should fix you up. I can't remember which way that I went. Try one way and if that doesn't work try the other way. Hope that helps.

So do you know if they go in order into the distributer? either 1234 or 4321. I tried both of those and one way it backfired so we put it back the other way,,, So if they are in order we have it right now and it means that it is something else we have to look for.

If it is running in the order that you have it right now, just rotate all of them in one direction, 1 place and see if that works if not go 2 places the other way. Try that and see if that works. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by rotate? Are you talking about moving the plug from cyl 1 to the cyl 4 position,, and 4 to 3, 3 to 2 and 2 to 1?

Not in the head rotate the ones on the distributor cap one space to the left all the way around. Try to start it and if it runs good fine, if not rotate them two spaces in the other direction. Try to start it and if it runs good then fine. I hope that this is a little bit clearer.

I just looked at mine. My wires are numbered.

As you look directly at the wires from the drivers side,4 goes to the front of the car, next is 1,then 2 and last(toward the rear of the car) goes 3.

Hope this helps.
