lethbridge,
hey guys and fellow DSM'ers, i'm not a newb but i have kind of a newb question.

1. Looking at the coil pack in the engine bay, what is the spark plug wire order?

2. just to be sure, what are the cylinder number locations to correspond with the coil pack numbers? is it 1-4 left-to-right, or 1-4 right-to-left? i think its 1-4 right-to-left looking at the engine bay, but i just really want to be sure about this.

thank you,
Jason.

1. The order from front to back on the coil 4 1 2 3.
2. The cylinders are from the drivers side (timing belt side) 1 2 3 4 passenger side

Since the DOHC cars use a waste spark ignition swapping 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 at the coil will still fire correctly.

If it's mounted correctly on the intake manifold, the firing order is 4-1-2-3, top to bottom.

Cylinder order is 4-3-2-1, left to right (passenger to driver).

hey thanks guys, yeah..........i just tried to start my car and all it does is crank. i've now ruled out everything as to why my car won't start. except for some bent vavles (worst case scenario). i've replaced the ECU, which i initally thought was the culprit, and i've torn my car apart top to bottom and checked timing. all perfect. still no start.

I've now come to the conclussion that upon "fixing" my timing belt a couple months ago, i must have put it back together wrong. (the first time) and upon starting it, i must have bent some valves.

SO.........does anybody know where i can pick up a new head??

Jason.

Just realized I got beat to the answer! All well.

Ebay is your friend for used heads. Or, at least it's my friend. :D
