I dunno if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering would a sound system way me down? I'm not trying to go for sound at all, but I want something thats a lil light and I still wanna try to pull 12's or 11's as my goal...but for now my goal is to hit 300whp to the wheels in my GST, so what size speaker would be fine, and what all would I have to remove to loose as much weight as possible...speare tire..jack and watelse?

placing weight on the non-drive rear wheels (your hatch ) directly goes againt trying to achieve what you want. with a goal like you have - ANY added weight will hinder it.
To get that low in a FWD you will be having to totaly gut the car. ( dash - carpet - etc )
just my .02

From what I have seen it takes about 450whp to get into the 11's and 350whp to get in the 12's.

Adding wieght is not what you should do. Just like Dave said. You are trying to take ALL of the wieght off the NON-drive (rear) wheels and have the front pretty light aswell.

If you are going add a speaker do it in place of your passenger seat. :p

Then again I have seen a 11.7 GS-T with a box and amp in the trunk. He had a set of Koni's set to HARD but still pulled it off. 467whp GS-T 60-1 with all support.

If you could add what type of CAR you are drving to your name it would help others.

depends on what u mean by sound system. mine weighs me down, but i dont race. once i take it all out car moves up by like a inch and a half.

so no system....um but weight reduction what all would I need to remove, cause this is gonna be a street daily driven car, and I wanna keep my insides nice as well you know.

I used to have two twelves in my car and I just took them out when I went to the track. But they got stolen so I am just now getting something new a year later and tired of no bass. My new setup is just going to be an 8" passive bazooka tube power by a 350watt kenwood amp. I'm still waiting for the amp to get here. This setup won't weight that much and will be easy to remove. I think it should do just fine for the music I listen to mostly rock.

so whats the lightest woofer to have in the Eclipse so I wont be weight'd down? cause I listen to alotta R&B and Rap and u know bass hits hard in that, but I dont wanna have too much stuff u know, maybe like a small woofer that hits hard enough and with a nice size amp. Oh yeah whats the best alarm/keyless entry to go with? cause I thought of the Clifford anti-thieft system.
