When I turn my music up past 17-18 my sound system shuts off for a second then comes back on. This happens over and over until I lower it below 17. Is there a fix for this?

im not sure whats all done to the sound system. I just bought the car the 7th and have been in the engine most of the time fixing an oil leak and a broken turn signal so i haven't really looked at that stuff. Ill check it out later. What all do you have installed, is it wired correctly?
Generally when you're above a certain volume and the deck/whatever starts to cut out, the main powe, or backup power, is insufficient and cannot keep up with the demand.
Either the wiring is wrong, the amp/settings are two high, or a combination of both.
ill try and get some pictures tomorrow.Get brands, models etc. You may have to remove the deck to see what all was done to the wiring, if it's even aftermarket.
If it's factory, what's the year? Some 2gs came with infinity? Sounds systems, and you may be experiencing a factory amp issue.
