Hey, what are your guys thoughts on these rims...in that i mean go with 17" and save $200 or bump it up to 18". they are $790 w/ tires for 17x7 and $990 for 18x7.5 in hyperblack. Its for my 92 Eclipse GS and i will be lowering definitly also.

I just ordered 17x7's for my eclipse.

Save the $200 and put it towards suspension.

It's really not that much of a difference.

I can't beleive this question is still being asked with all of the debates (recent and past).

18" cost more, weigh more (lot more rotational weight). No performance benefits whatsoever.

He's putting it on a n/t anyways so who cares about performance, 18's look better.

That's for him to decide. Not you. Thank you very much.

Exactly. He asked for opinions. Which negates everything you've said yourself.

18" aren't good for performance for a car that already has limited performance in terms of HP per pound ratio. Plain stupid to want to further deminish what performance it has.

You said "who cares". Well, Gomer Pile, he is the one asking for opinions. So you don't get to decide what he should or shouldn't care about. Wake up. It ain't about you. It never was.

Ok i apoligize i completly forgot you were his dad and make his performance decisions for him. And this isn't about you either. :thumbdown

Why don't you guys just go ahead and measure your penises and get it over with?

Either size wheel will look good as long as the wheel/tire combo doesn't leave a big gap in the wheelwell.

HAHA

Why don't you just buy them both and save the ones that you like better just for weekend driving? Or better yet, be like all of those Honda guys and buy the 17's, realize you want the 18's and sell the 17's for a huge loss in $$$

Sorry, this post didn't help...

He ain't got one.

Go ahead and roll on 18s, yeah you'll look cool for vanity sake. While you're at it you might as well wear makeup and put on dresses and check out yourself in the vanity mirror every five minutes.

As if you can see the bling bling wheels from the driver seat.

Dumbass kids.

I guess someones bitter they can't afford wheels
I dont understand how i don't have a penis if you like you can come here and measure it or just send your mommy. I thought we were discussing wheels here not the fact that PaulPdx has a tampon is his ass over someone wanting 18 inch wheels.
Why don't :shhh: because your the dumbass.

First off if performance mattered he'd be driving a turbo model or be buying true performance parts like intake, exhaust, headers, etc. Second, wearing a dress and makeup has absolutely no relevance to the size of rims he is debating on for his car, this would belong in a cross dressing forum.

For the orignal poster, if money and performance are of concern then go with the 17s.
If on the other hand looks are more important to you and you have extra pocket cash then I'd go with 18s.

And buy a good suspension because you don't want a bad ride and you want it lowered so it doesn't look like a jeep. I just read a few of PaulPdx posts and notices he likes to argue for no reason and has locked up 2 threads because he is so inferior so i will stop this arguement with him and hopefully he will too. ( Waiving white flag) :thumb:

Lose all the Unsprung weight and go performance wise. Id personally bolt on some 16X7.5's wrapped in Nitto rubbers. Definatley FORGED. But if your set on looks go 18s and for some good suspension id check in Ground Contrl coil overs with KONI shocks, nastier price tag but ubelievable durability and ride

I like 18s as a compromise between 17s and 19s. The difference in performance between the SAME wheels in 17 or 18 are minimal. There will always be a faster car, so go with whatever you think you'll be happiest with. Bottom line: don't settle now for something less just because its a couple bills cheaper. Save the extra $200 and go 18s if that's what you really want.

And if performance is your absolute measure of a wheel's worth, then don't settle for anything less than forged Rays.

Personally, I couldn't give a shit about two 1/10's of a second.
