sound over 4k rpms

when i am wot at around 4k my engine completely changes sound. at the moment i took all my parts off so it is completely stock and when i get up in higher rpms the whole pitch of the engine changes its very weird does anyone elses car do this?

It's just Vtec kicking in, don't worry about it.

Take a video, because "Oh a weird noise" is really vague.

no it sounds like the engine is about to explode it almost kinda does remind me of vtec just not as deep

post up a vid, "changes sound" doesnt really help. if it makes a whining sound almost like a supercharger than its your turbo gone!

That's what I was thinking.
4k sounds like where his turbo would spool, right?

A buddy of mine had that problem with his, felt like no power, sounded like vtec. His timing belt jumped 3 teeth, lucky nothing got hurt..

no my turbo is fine i would post up a vid but its currently getting a new water pump and there is no power loss and turbo sounds perfectly fine just seems like a different sound when i get the water pump all put in ill take a video and post it up. thanks for all the suggestions guys
