Most often you will find that forged pistons use different ring specs than the stock pistons.

The specs for the ring lands on the pistons.

Top Ring Groove Size 1.2 mm
Second Ring Groove Size 1.5 mm
Oil Ring Groove Size 3.0 mm

The rings you have are for a 1g Turbo
part number NPR SWM31048-0

1ST RINGS SIZE 1.20MM
2ND RINGS SIZE 1.50MM
OIL RINGS SIZE 3.00MM


Now looking at the specs off the pistons, it looks like that Probe provides NPR ring with there pistons.

Ring Set # 14481-.50 - SWM31048-2
14481-1.0 - SWM31048-4


From the looks of it, you have the rings for the pistons.

Now the one thing I can not tell if the pistons are 1mm/.040
The rings you have are 1mm/.040 oversized

I would just save yourself the trouble and sell those things and buy a piston that has been designed to use in your motor and they will come with the proper rings.

They have been designed for the 420a engine. Probe lists them for the Dodge SRT 4



This is the NPR part number for the probe rings.

These are the 1mm/.040 overs

Thank you very much friend, since you put the last post I found the part number, but now I can not find it where they sell them, I have seen in several link the part number but only sold until 0.020 and not 0.040

Hit ebay, or your local parts store. NPR, Hastings, Sealed Power all should have them. They are stock spec rings.

Check with some supporting vendors, they should have them.

Just tell them what over size you need.

You are making this harder than you need too.

hi friend, i live in Chihuahua, Mexico. In my country is a little hard to find parts for DSM, that's why I asked here, I asked eBay sellers and none had them in 0.040, but it seems that you got the rings , thank you very much for your contributions
