I recently got my car running again after having the ECU repaired, but, being a DSM, I'm sure she has something devious planned for me soon.
So I was just out snooping around her inards looking for an oil leak I was already aware of. The driverside of the crankcase (the part I can see with the car on the ground and all, which is mostly the oil pump) is wet with oil. There's also oil on the front crossmember (that's what that frame rail just below the radiator is called, right?) is wet with oil, as well as just under the built in feed line on the head for the turbo's oil, but not at the junction of the actual feed line (which I repaired due to a previous leak).
So I turned the car on to look for any visible oil seepage while she idled and didn't find any, but I did hear from under the valve cover some ticking I havn't heard before. It's quiet, but it's there. Is this lifter tick? I bought this motor used from Japan (all I could afford) a year ago, but I've only had it running several months at most.
Going back to the oil leak at the turbo oil feed line that I prevoiusly fixed: The aluminum threads were torn off in to the bolt that held the feed line in place somehow, and the leak became so bad that one day on my way home from school I went through two jugs (don't know how much of oil in each, but they were big jugs) of oil. It was literally spraying oil out in my bay. At one point, the car even shut off. I feared the worst (siezed motor or what not) but after filling it with the last of the oil I had, she got me home fine. We fixed it a day or so later, and havn't had any leakage from there. Could this be responsible for the ticking I'm hearing?
Any aid would be wonderful, thank you.
(EDIT: I don't know why I didn't think of it, but the ticking may very well be my injectors. Heh. Still, if anyone has ideas or thoughts about where the oil leaks are most likely coming from, or what kind of damage could have been caused by that massive oil leak I explained, I'd appreciate it)
