I just bought a 1999 Eclipse GS-T that was completely bone stock. I just ordered a few parts and thought I would run it by some of you to see what you think. First off I dont want to get to crazy so here are the parts. HID kit both high and low beam, short shifter and new round shift knob, Greddy hard pipe kit with BOV flange, and Greddy type RS BOV I WILL STILL RECIRC!!! Ive also ordered a short ram air intake kit. Yesterday i cut off the stock muffler and welded up an HKS and thats about it, any ideas or anything im doing wrong? advice would be appreciated, cause im SONEW to this.

I love this web site.

Will the boost gauge just tap into any vacuum line or???

The line people usually T into is on the right side of the plenum on the intake manifold, it goes to the fuel pressure solenoid which is located on a bracket back on the firewall.

does anyone maybe have a picture of this line that i can t into? and anyone have any recommendations on what lowering springs i should get?

Also my buddy has a 2010 Civic Si with about $2000 into it right now and he has Hondata for engine management, is there anything out there with an obd2 connector for tuning for the dsms?

You need to start reading on here a little bit. Since you have a 99, you have a couple different options for tuning, the first being to get ahold of an EPROM ECU and buying DSMLink. The second, cheaper, and probably smarter option is, since your car is a 99 and has a flashable ECU, to get EvoScan and ECUFlash and tune with that. EvoScan is for datalogging and ECUFlash allows you to read, modify and write ROMs for ECUs.

There is a ton of information about this stuff on this site.

And here is a photo, since my description of the vacuum line was apparently inadequate.

The line this dude is holding.

I like the Prosport gauges.

I just put my prosport in and I love it. For 45$ Shipped for a 30 vac/psi gauge that has 2 color options and is basically completely blacked out when its off is nice. Its decently accurate and you can just simply get a mounting pod for it to go on just fine. I connected all my wires to the radio and the ground to a random bolt in the door

If you just want lowering springs I say eibach pro lines are a fine way to go. But you might want to look into coilovers so your not stuck replacing a part you just bought later on if you want some more stiff turning

Thanks for all your help guys my boost gauge should be on tonight. I looked at my timing belt and it's been replaced before, no cracks at all looks decently new.

You shouldn't just assume it's been replaced before, but whatever it's your car.

Plus PCV valve, thermostat, accessory belts, air filter, O2 sensors if needed, fix any leaks, check the turbo for shaft play, look over your brakes, suspension stuff. Hows your clutch? What about the clutch slave and master cylinders? Do you have a CEL? The idea is to have the car working as close to perfect in every aspect as you're ever going to get it before you even think about throwing any go fast parts on it.

My bad!ROFL That's a good idea too and should be done! - Ryann :talon:

On a boost gauge the AutoMeter Ultra Lite Boost/Vacuum is pretty nice i got one it works great and looks nice! :hellyeah: - Ryann :talon:

How come no one has pointed him toward the upgrade path?
Check this link, it will tell you which mods to do in which order....

Because it's a better Idea to steer them to get their maintenance done properly first:thumb:

I believe my internal waste gate is sticking a little, when I build about half boost push the Clutch in at 3000RPMs my rpms just 300-400 for a second then drop to normal. Any advice?
