Some dash lights are dim, others off

My 120-160 on my spedometer is always dim. But on occasion, the rest of the spedometer will go dim and the other half of the gauge cluster works fine. My hazard light/rear defrost lights don't work at all. What could be causing my spedo to suddenly dim, then go back to normal after driving for a while? I have heard that the bulbs can burn out, how do you replace those? It's not a real problem to me or anything, its just somewhat annoying. Other than that all the other controls work fine.

Sounds like one of the illumination bulbs isn't completely seated.

how do I completely seat it then?

Remove the gauge cluster, flip it over, and check the bulbs. They remove by twisting out.

there are 2 screws to remove the gauge cluster and then you will see the whole thing flip the cluster gauge and twist the bulb and make it sit right.


its a 5 minutes job
