I am selling my DN Performance tubular as I believe the new cast manifolds are flowing more but which one? The new SBR has a 4 week wait and that is too much. They may have some of their last "best" cast available but are they truly flowing more than the EVO III? How about the $149. cast exhausts, anyone compared them to the best from Mitsu or SBR? I want to get the best flowing cast minifold avaailable today. Help, anyone? Thanks, Mark

I would go with the GT manifold. I have one that is fully ported and it's a very nice peice. Granted it doesn't look like a tubular does but for the price of it, you can't beat it.

As far as flowing goes, I think you'd be hard-pressed to see a big difference in the SBR and the GT manifold. The SB may flow a little bit more, which would be expected with the larger collector/runners, but is it worth the extra 200+ dollars?

I'd go with the turbochargers.com GT manifold. If you want the wastegate flange for a 38mm external wastegate, go with the SBR unit.

I would never buy any of that taiwan knockoff stuff that tchargers.com sells. Buy SBR, or just get an Evo3

The big difference in manifolds is what their cast of, this will determine how long they last. Not to sure how the GT manifold compares to the SBR manifold but I can say that when I had my heat shield off this spring I found 2 crack about 1" long on my SBR mani that I just installed last spring & has about 12K on it. Obviously wasn't that impressed :notgood:

Your not the first guy with a cracked SBR manifold. We have 2 local guys that had a cracked SB manifold. Replaced with a GT manifold and noticed no loss in performance or spool up.

ROFL ROFL That's funny. People say they don't trust taiwan GT manifolds but SBR manifolds get replaced by GTs. :p :tease:

But were all these people with cracked sbr's running the newest version? Because yes there were problems with the old ones, but since they re-designed and recast i was under the impression they were a lot better.

Honestly, a good solidly ported evo3 will more than likley do what you want it to. And it's a mitsu factory manny, so it's less likley to crack even over a 2g manny. But if you need the bump in performance I'd go with the sbr, i just don't know how i feel about turbochargers yet.

Mine is the origional design without the mount for an external gate. The ones that they had problems with were only supposed to be about the first 10 or 20 cast of the origional design, they then chaged what they were cast of to fix the problem (or atleast thats what was claimed on here). It would be interesting to know if they did change the composition between the last batch of the origional design & the new design. All I know is that mine was supposed to be from the "good" batch of the origional design & has cracks from one summers use. It didn't even have time to rust before it developed some cracks  .

One local had the new version with the external gate and another had the old one. The old one cracked within 1200 miles and I want to say the new one lasted maybe 2500 miles? All I know is that they weren't used long before cracking (as you could definitely see with seafoam). From what they told me, SB basically said to bad. :notgood:

Replaced with a GT and has been run for probably about 10k miles with no cracks.

I've been hearing a lot of crappy things about SBR and their customer service latley. Kinda makes me sad ### thats where i was gonna get my motor, but i hear iffy things about those too.

I guess go for the GT or a hefty ported evo3. I'd go with the evo3 myself, ### they never seem to crack. But they are a little more expensive.
