I'm pretty sure its my o2 mounted tial mvs. It's literally right behind my fan and I think this is the reason for the melting. I thought of a few ideas and I'm looking for some input. I don't think I can fit a heatshield over everything so would it be possible to maybe wrap my wastegate with header wrap?

Also, I try to keep my ac fan on now to prevent further melting. Should I just wire up a switch to keep it on instead? I saw a thread on here where someone wired a toggle switch into the ecu and that seems easier than bringing in wire from my engine bay.

Last, I want some opinions on a new ac fan. Should I just replace it with the stocker since it fits or should I get a slim fan? Which would flow more?

Thanks in advance, I know this is a long post LOL.

Maybe a little more background would help here. Is there another thread where you explain everything that happened with the melting?

Sounds like you have airflow problems.

And once the car's moving, the engine fans aren't really cooling anything and shutdown.

I haven't had any problems yet... Then again my AC fan is wired to the main fan so they both come on at the same time.

Liquid, that's exactly how my set up is, except I'm still using the stock radiator and fans. I'm not overheating or anything, it just gets crazy hot under my hood ever since the punishment fmic. I originally thought it was an exhaust leak but I can't feel anything leaking in that area.

I just cut the blade off and kept it on there, it still works but makes my car shake like crazy ROFL

Should I just replace it with another stock AC fan or would I be better off going with a SPAL or mishimoto or some other slim fan?
