Now I'm officially a DSM owner as the car jumped timing. I thought I'd left the maf unplugged while pulling off all the vacuum lines, but the exhaust cam was advanced by 1 tooth. That's what you get from leaking cam seals...

I've had the car for 9 days. 5 days driving 4 days broken.

So I ordered all the timing stuff and I'm going to get it done this week.

Welcome to the DSM Family :thumb:

And I'm sorry the DSM curse started so early for you :notgood:

oh, at least I'm getting all of the maint. stuff out of the way early. It'll be running good for a few days before I trash the stock clutch.... At least it's cheaper to fix than my VW. :thumb:

You need to update your profile so we know what your first DSM is

Anyway, congrats !!!! If you take care of your ride, It'll take care of you !!!!! :dsm:

EDIT: Well I just skimmed the other thread and seen your ride (you should still update your profile :thumb: )

Sorry to hear it, I've had a DSM (x3) for 4,015 days, and 4,015 driving !!! :dsm: :rocks: :dsm: :D

Welcome to the club. Mine lasted about 3 weeks of ownership, and less than three months after a top end rebuild before it again threw the timing belt.

Just when I was beginning to enjoy the car it decided to break on me. Oh well, since I have 2 other vehicles. I am letting my Talon sit. :sneaky: It wants to leave me sit in the middle of a construction zoe in the dark with all kinds of traffic wizzing by..hmmph..well then it's just gonna have to sit awhile until I get good an ready to fix it. See how it likes it! :tease: :talon:

Gotta lay down rules right away. ROFL
