OK, so yes, I know about 9/10 people are crapping their pants reading this but I'm truly just tired of searching and not getting what I need.

There is the free removal guide but I've already got the kit. So I don't need the tech section's free guide. And I have a 2g and not a 1g so the VFAQ doesn't completely apply to me.

No, I need the "How to remove a 2g's balance shafts with the kit and the engine in the car guide". It's long but it's what I need to get a hold of.

Indeed there are a TON of threads on the topic but they all seem to be about "Should I or Shouldn't I". That or "What does it do?" I know I want to do it and what it does but I need a how to guide.

FYI, the transfer case, oil pan, are all dropped. The A/C was all just removed. And a timing belt is going in as well as a new water pump. You see, it is time to do a ton of work so I hope someone could look past my lack of luck with the search button and help me out! Thanks guys!

This is actually for my car (but eventually his also), and I too have been searching with little to no luck. Help us out guys :(

It will be a pain to do. It might take two people to do it too. Take your timing belts off. On the oil case you will need to punch out a seal lock for the rear balance shaft, follow your hanyes manual it will tell you how( i use a screw driver and a hammer.)Then take your oil case off. should pull out(key word is should). The front you will need to take the pully off and it should come out( this part reguires your buddy to sit on top of the engine so the balance shaft will clear the cross member. Make sure you plug your front side oil passages with the stuff in your kit comes with. and plug the hole where the pully came out of. The rear balance shaft adapter I would sand it down to take about a tenth of materal off so it doesnt seize.
sorry its alittle out of order do your front shaft first by taking the pulley off then the seal lock then your front case then your shafts.

Your hanyes manual will tell you how to take them out, just ingnore the part about the engine needing to be removed.

I've done 4 BSE's with the motor in 2g's.
2 AWD's and 2 FWD's.
FWD is much easier only because you don't have to deal with the transfer case and driveline, but everything else is the same.

It can be done, just takes patience.

Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit Install

Good luck...
Just be patient and use your head, and the right tools.
Oh and if anything, make sure you buy that stubby shaft from mitsu instead of that POS that most people use and wonder why their oil pump failed...

I just took the balance shafts out of my 2g motor, but it was on a engine stand with the motor out of the car.
I would never want to take out the BS with the motor in the car...

We're going to be using a kit from STM. The transfer case is no big deal. In fact, it was already off the car so we could pull the oil pan. This should be no big deal, thanks for the reassurance :D
