I'm new to dsm, I just bought a 95 eagle talon tsi awd. It's smoking really bad? Idk what this could be from. He has 550cc injectors in it I believe and the chip that's in it is tuned for 450 cc injectors, could that be it? Im going to buy a dsmlink here soon. Also whenever going into boost there's a loud whistling sound, what could this be? I had an ebay bov on it but replaced it with the stock 1G bov. Also seems like the car take a little to get up to boost, any ideas? Again i'm new to dsm so I don't have much knowledge yet, so any good information of what to check for or anything would be helpful.

Coleman, this is Justin. The issues he has going on is quite a few. He brought it to the shop last night but we only had maybe 2 hours to quick look things over. He has evo 560 injectors in there. The ECU is chipped for 450's 7.5k launch 11:1 afr. The car is definitely dumping fuel but it is spitting coolant as well. The chra on the turbo looked to be leaking oil out of the top. In all honesty with all of the little shit that needs fixed, it is much easier to pull the motor out to do everything, especially for your first time since things like the timing belt can be tougher to do in the car. It sounds like a daunting task but it's really not that bad to pull the motor and trans as it makes working on everything so much easier.

The cam angle sensor is leaking oil so that o-ring or the valve cover half moon that are right there need to be replaced. I would pull the head to replace the headgasket. I believe you guys have a good machine shop there that Edwin use to take his parts to get hot tanked to and you can have the block and head checked to see if they need decked. Order this headgasket: EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts Use copper spray (you can find it in the sealant aisle of autozone by the jb weld and epoxy, it comes in an aerosol can) I put 2 light coats on the gasket and let it sit overnight.

The turbo did seem to have shaft play but it was too hot to get a good grasp on to feel, it didn't seem to tough the housing but likely enough that there is oil blowing through the chra.

If you're buying dsmlink then you can leave the injectors that you have in it now. I would skip all of the boost leak tests and all the minor stuff and start with replacing the headgasket and making sure that timing is on when it goes back together since it seemed to be off. Check the receipts you have and see if the timing belt, tensioner and pulleys are on there as being replaced recently, if not I would replace them while you're in there and get a set of standard arp head studs since you cannot reuse the stock ones, though it may already be laced with arp's. You can do the headgasket with everything else for around $500 and that should leave you with a reliable motor that won't need any maintenance for a long time if you treat it right. I would probably also replace the front case and water pump gasket while you're in there. Wish I could help you hands on more but you saw how much work is at the shop and I have 3 other cars to finish up yet but I'll help to point you in the right direction as best as I can.
