smokes really bad

ok i just got a 92nt laser that was just sittin for like a year and a half..it wasent running.i put an ecu in it and it started right up.only problem is it smokes really bad really really bad. my dad says im burnin oil . would this come from sittin so long? i left the car idol for an hour today and it didnt get any better..if i do an oil change do you think it would help this any?

What color is the smoke? What does it smell like? It could just be the old ass fuel you have in there, but yes, definately change the oil.

the smoke is whiteish n very thick at times.ive let it idle for about 2 hours the smoke came n went but still smokin really bad.

it's burning oil, question is where at? Could be your rings, your valve seals. Change your oil and check the level, don't use synthetic oil. Heavier oil might be able to seal the leaks.

Mine smoked bad after sitting for like 8 mos. Oil change fixed it. Hopefully it's the same with you.

Mines smoking and burning oil to, it sat for almost 3 years :thumbdown
