I've been smelling coolant on occasion and I can't tell where its coming from. I have no white smoke, only blue smoke sometimes but I'm pretty sure its because my valve stem seals are bad. Ijust dump some no smoke in and it's fine. Anyway, I replaced my radiator, my thermostat and hoses recently and my fan won't stop running. As far as I can tell there's no leaks and I'm not losing fluid. Also, I don't see any coolant in my oil or vice versa so I'm pretty sure my head gasket is OK. Haven't been able to do a leakdown test, but there are no signs like the last time i blew a hg

Sounds like the heater core "misting"

Set the heater on defrost, fan motor off and keep an eye for fog on the inside of the windshield when you drive and up to op temp.

It can be such a small leak, that you will not notice a cup of fluid missing a month...

i had the same issue but mine was the gasket of the thermostat. It was leaking a very small amount on the back side of it to where i didnt notice the leak until i had a friend rev it while i looked for the leak

Lasy coolant smell I had was the radiator itself leaking from the top seam and was thinking it was the heater core but luckily it was just the radiator. Saw coolant seaping out the top.
