ok so my setup is almost done as follows
.car is a 90 awd talon...

mhi small 16g
2g unported manifold
trackenstein sheet metal intake manifld
AEM tru time cam gears
hks 272 cams
aeromotive fpr
90 eprom ecu
ID1000 cc injectors
3in turboback exhaust
cometic 3 layer metal head gasket
ARP head studs
ngk wires
tial 44mm wastegate

front mount intercooler kit

walbro 255
speed density setup
tuning on e85 straight

my setup is close to being complete i also have a turbonetics 57 trim that i have not put on yet.my question is should i stick with the 16g for now and max it im trying to max its range and make peak power with it before i jump up to the 57?? everyone says it will be a nice torque monster for the street thats what i really want with less lag as possible:D hp goals are mid 600 after upgrading turbos for now id be happy with mid 400

If you want a torque monster drop that smim, keep the stock cams and go 2.3 stroker :D

But that small 16g wont get you into the mid 400's. Have you considered an hx35? What is your "57 trim" turbo?
 
That huge intake manifold is way too big for your setup. Don't use it unless you plan on upgrading your turbo drastically in the very near future. The small 16g won't even come close to your goal of 500-600. It seems like every time I see you post on here you have a new turbo idea, I went back to your recent posts, and in the last few weeks you've posted about a holset, a 57 trim, and your current 16g. It may be a good idea to put some research into the proven setups on here that work, and supporting mods. You need to at least put a larger fuel pump in before you even think about a t3 turbo or smim. As far as my build goes, the smim is about the last thing on my list.

is your turbonetics a t3/t4 ? if so, that's the turbo you need to use. i'm using the same one to make around 4-450awhp.

but for the record, get rid of the td05h stuff & swap to T3 or ^. that turbonetics should do you right though, man. thats what i had on my skylines.
 
Yea that SMIM has to go. If you want to have a "street machine torque monster" then you need to get a different intake manifold like a properly setup Cyclone intake or even stick with the 2g. The cyclone is a much better option (as long as you port your 2g head or if you have a 1g head) because it gives great torque throughout the entire powerband (actually expanding it out of boost) and giving faster spool up. In addition, it will flow more up top than a 2g manifold.
