curious small16g question

i was just wonder how much whp a Small16g turbo could lay down wit ## typical supporting mods

just like a estimate range at say like 17psi and how much hp would the evo316g lay down at like 17psi also

There is NO way to even estimate the power either of the two can put down. Honestly, This has been discussed many times before about different turbos/mods. There are too many factors. One guy can put down 400whp on a turbo, Where the other guy can put 293whp on the same setup.

The numbers over there <<< were put down on a small 16G with lots of supporting mods, a bad tune, a stock side mount, lots of phantom knock, and blown motor mounts on 19psi.

Evo III number without all the bad stuff (execpt the side mount) should be coming today. I'll let you know.

Intercooler should be coming to

Fix the bad tune and phantom knock, and say hello to more power

And the new numbers are in.... And yes the intercooler is on its way.

Small 16G, w/phantom knock + bad tune + dirty air filter: 232hp / 264lb/ft @20psi

Evo III, no phanton knock + better tune + new air filter: 266hp / 259lb/ft @18psi



Something interesting to note. With the S16G, the intercooler would be completely heat soaked after each run. Power would drop 15-20hp per run, even with me spraying it with water and alcohol and blowing air directly at it.

With the Evo III it took 3 back-to-back runs with no water spray to get a significant power drop (20hp on the 3rd run). With water spray and 1-2 minutes of cool down between runs, power was very consistant and repeat able up to about the 10th run. I think this is outstanding for a stock SMIC.
