Any 1 know whats the common cause of this leak? I have a pic included to give u guys a idea of where its coming from..kinda hard to tell cause there so much gunk/grease/etc..
Leak is small, actually started happening when i use the engine gunk removal oil to clean the insides of it...=/. this was like maybe 2 months ago, ever since then it has a small leak when i drive my car hard or long trips.. thanks for time

99.9% of leaks that appear on the timing belt side of the engine are attributed a bad seal. If the leak is higher up in the timing cover then it could point to one of the two camshaft seals. If the oil is leaking out of the bottom of of the timing cover then it could be the oil pump seal, front crankshaft seal, balance shaft seal, or even the camshaft seals.

I had a oil leak where the bolt that goes into the balance shaft tensioner was. I had took the balance shaft tensioner out, but left the stock bolt in. Needless to say you have to use a shorter bolt with a little RTV, hasn't leaked since. (knock on wood)

I believe I was quoted 4 hours roughly for timing belt (which is crap) so I'd imagine that it'd take a little longer than that. I'd say probably around 6 or so.

Today i pulled off the timing belt cover to check the valve cover gasket becuase it was leaking lighlty some oil from the timing belt side like a month ago it had some oil coming out from the valve cover gasket so i tightned it some more, thinking that this should stop..but I think when i did this i made it worse, cause when i checked it out today it seemed like more oil was leaking..only from the timing belt side, all around the motor seems fine..So i know for a fact i need a new gasket for my valve cover..im pretty sure i can do this bymyself, but just in case im wondering is there anything else should i do, any kind of chemical/product i need to keep this gasket sealed? anything that can help this newbie out..never pulled out a valve cover gasket in my life..LOL
thanks so much for your time guys!

and that I used is a little dab of silicone sealant around 5-6 points on the top of the head to keep the valve cover gasket aligned properly as you put it back on. It is a little bit big so it doesn't always fit perfectly but the sealant helps hold it down. That's it tho, make sure to replace your spark plug socket well seals too (should come in the set).

4 hours is what it will prolly take you for your first time.

well i purhased the timing belt kit, all the seals, balance shaft, wter pump, basicly all the things i need to do a timing belt job ...total cost 257 dollars just on parts..Belts are from "Gates"...Hopefully this will solve my problems

i jus got my timing kit put on my car today, no leaks now and a piece of mind of driving not thinking that my belt is gonna break or slip..=D $200 bucks only downside he took 6 hours! but hey the timing belt side is all clean no oil build up..but thanks Agent for your help.
