Just bought a 98 gs spyder and want to do a turbo conversion. I really want to do internals now so I don't have to later. Does any one know about the SB non turbo long block. It seems like a really reliable way to purchase the engine. I also want to get their turbo kit but don't know what size turbo I should get. Any input on this idea would be great. Tranny help would be good too.

There is a NT with Turbo forum if you look in our forum lists. Going here will help you out a lot more than posting here. My only suggestion to you is to do your research before you go boost. Although it may sound cool to say that you went turbo, a lot of things can go wrong if you don't stay on top of your game.

goodluck and have fun :thumb:

:rocks: Tom, you are correct, there are a lot of factors in turbo charging a 420A engine, our SBR longblock is definately the safest way to get started, and our turbo kit is one of the most complete on the market for the car. :thumb:

As anyone who has boosted a stock 420A Motor can tell you, the factory rods are ja-ja-ja-junk, may as well be made out of bamboo. Yeah Panda Bears Like it, but you dont make con rods out of pressed powder. They just blow apart. Forged is the only way to go, and after that, these motors really do alright with the boost and the right mods, You will need ECU control as well. Never forget that. ;)

If you have any questions, call in to the shop, I or any of our sales staff would be more than happy to assist you in your decision.

Thanks,

I thought the non turbo spyders came with the 4G64? the 420A is found in the 2g base, rs, and gs.
