You might want to see if it is trying to jump out of position. My passenger side window kept jumping out the the rubber guide toward the back of the window. I kept having to set it back in place.
oohhh I love this car..
Finish2000 is what I used... Remove the door panel and you can slide the window's rubber guide up and outside of the tract itself... You don't even have to remove the window either... Just up and out. Once it's outside of the door frame, use the Finish2000 and a rag to clean out the inside of the rubber window guide. You might have to remove the door speaker and part of the inner door weather barrier in order to reinstall the rubber window guide back in the window tract. Doing this on both sides, my windows now roll up and down faster then my buddy's 91 TSi's window could roll down! No nasty residue either. I never even had to touch the motor itself.
Another thought is that you might also want to check your window switches... being a high current switch, the contacts get pitted after years of use... Disassemble the switch while you have the door panel off and remove all of the carbon deposits from the small copper contacts and add in a little bit of die electric grease.
Good Luck
