Sloppy Steering

Ok, I'm still on my quest to get everything in tip-top shape before I start modding. I have noticed that my steering is pretty sloppy. Anything above interstate speed is hard to keep it on track. When cruising down the road. I can violently shake the steering wheel 25 or so degrees left and right with no response in the steering. What should I check for.

My car has begun showing symptoms of this as well. Will do some research and post up what I find.

check all your mounts if they check ok then jack up the front end of your car and check if it's your ball joints or tie rod ends if they check out ok then check your axles for rips in the boot if that checks out ok then lower the car and see and try to feel how much free play there is in your wheel if there's alot you probably have a bad rack...wo that was alot that's really most of them things I can think of that would make your car do that

My car was like that when I bought it, got an alignment done and it went away. Maybe if you have somewhere to check if you need an alignment (like they will ever say no) but check anyway and ask them if the steering wheel will be fixed. Or just blame them for it after
