The shifter in my 91 GSX has a lot of play in it. I can take the shifter and move it in about a 2" circle without engaging any gears. Is there a simple bushing fix for this? Or do you need to replace something else? The bushings on the tranny arms are tight. The play is in the shifter itself.

Thank you,
Steve

Have you taken a look at the shifter itself? You should take the console oout and look at it. The shifter could have a loose nut holding it on, it could be the shifter base bushings, take a look at it and get back to us.
