Nice talon, all you need in that talon is the rare all black leather :D

I actually like the black and tan better in a Talon, not sure why.

OP, what are your plans for the interior? Will anything else in there be getting the black suede treatment you did for the headliner?

My plans when I was looking at this car was to swap my black leather in from my GS.. I agree, it will look bad ass if you get a black interior into it

Id love to have it! Sadly my 99 GS grocery getter has all black interior, and my powerplant 97 gst has all grey.. im just so busy with the 5 speed swap i havent swapped interiors yet. I will though! :thumb:

can i ask how much the materials to sound proof the car was? did you use dynamatt or another company and is there a link to where you bought it?

I have $150 into the the padding, and $250 into the liquid (havnt used nearly any of it) I went with a FatMat, can find it searching on eBay.

Do you still have the 1g shell? Is it for sale?

Nope, pulled the drivetrain out of it and crushed it. Was sad to see a rust free 1g get crushed, but it wasnt worth paying the tax to title it then try to sell it and recoupe.

Would def like to do black leather, might steal it out of the spyder. Until then just going to put grey leather in it. Have considered laying black suede inserts but if so ill do it after i get it running.

New wheel bearings and extended studs, rebuilt the ebrake:

On a side note TSiTuner23: You still dating that smoking hot asian chick? She made it kind of hard to focus on the car LOL

Ah, hey man!!

and NO, she is long gone. She was the reason i f**cking sold it when it came down to it. I gave EVERYTHING for her, she decided she wanted to be a prostitute (and i really mean, she started whoring herself on craigslist and sleeping with guys for money) and i moved back home with no DSM, no money, and a bookbag of clothes. biggest mistake of my life ever falling for her.

Now i have a new girl in my life, who bought me a replacement, that has everything i wanted for the original talon...2ga sideskirts, those rare quarter panel windows, rx7 wheels, and BLACK LEATHER!!! (Oh and howcan i forget, DOESNT bi*** about me dumping just about every free penny i have at her ^_^)

to the OP, i swear i saw in another thread that you also have this...is that so?

...6 years ago today, i spotted this beauty sitting in the back of some used car lot. I had never seen a 2gb Talon before, and it caught my eye right away...I test drove it, and it was game over for me, i was sold. A few hours later, i showed back up with a blank check, and jumped into the world of DSMs feet 1st!

Tell her i said hello!!! LOL

Looks like a nice build. So you bought the 1g for the All Wheel Drive driveline parts? I didn't think they were intercahngable between 1g & 2g. Or did you just buy the 1g for the engine?

I just bought a G4CS longblock from a 91 Sonata. There'll be a 2.4 in my Talon too! The junkyard guy looked at me funny when I told him I just want it for block and crank for a engine build for my Talon.

Nope, just for the engine. Only actually ended up using the shortblock. Sold pretty much everything that wasn't crushed.

Started working on my intake and exhaust porting.
Picked up a blasting cabinet from Harbor Freight:

Ended up being good for porting in too:

In order to make porting a little easier, I picked up a bunch of LEDs, watch batteries, magnets and some electrical tape to make some mini disposable lights. Helped a lot being able to see what I was doing:

Started going on the O2 Housing:

Then BAM end of porting for today:

The sanding drum ripped apart, bent the arbor smashed the grinder into my arm breaking the end off. When the end broke off the power switch no longer worked. Lets just say a bent arbor spinning at 25,000rpm isn't exactly fun to handle while trying to tug the power cord from the wall.

Harbor Freight will replace that if you bought it within 30 days of purchase if you can think of a good reason its a product defect. Just FYI. That's some nice porting man!

Thanks! I found the electric grider seems to work a lot better than air, has a lot of torque. The only thing that sucks not have variable speed control but goes significantly faster.

Also found it works best to only stick with the carbides for significant removal (in this case the centering ring seat) sanding drums for the rest of the flash, and then running a couple cross buffers to polish it off.

Harbor Freight seems to have pretty good deals on the 30 piece sanding drum kit.
Order a couple sets of cross buffs from Summit.
