Do the 2G's have the same slave cyl as the 1G's?

I'm going to change the slave on my 2G and my buddy has a 1G slave he will let me have, but I don't know if they are the same. Any help is appreciated.

i believe they maybe different. I just put one on my 1st gen and my brother said it looked like his 2g. i had to make up a new hardline for it, but that was no biggie (bolt up the same, jsut the line is moved). have you checked a parts store, i think they are rather cheap if i remember right. or if you buddy has one, why not just look at it and look at yours?

they are all different

i have a 91 w/ cruise i went to a bone yard and got a slave cyl w/ cruise off a 93.

long story short. it doesnt fit.

did it not bolt up, or was the line location different?

There are two different piston/bore sizes for 1G, 3/4" and 11/16" if memory serves me right. They usually bolt up but the second size has somewhat less travel and can lead to disingagement problems and poor shifting especially with 2600. Some people even wore their synchros out prematurely because of it. 3/4 is red anodized and 11/16 (if that's what it is) is green. there are some clear (metal) color as well, I beleive those are 3/4.
