you drive a dsm, Not a skyline

He drives a Mitsubishi, not a Nissan.

Nissan lights belong on Nissan cars.

Mitsubishi lights belong on Mitsubishi cars.

If you really want to look unique, go get some FTO tail lights.

It's just a fad, just like the silvia lights im now seeing on 2g show cars, at least its different from the supra lights that were over used. Hopefully the 1g dsm will be out of the showcar fad soon.

that white 1st gen is bad as hell. i think those tails look way better than stock ones. go for it man.

where abouts in B.C. are you from? i'm from victoria.
i think it would look dope, but think about all the other mods you could do with the money.
and check out www.bcdsm.org
its dope

Hey

Hell ya! Thats what I'm talking 'bout! :D :D :D You guys never gave me the link to just the taillights though!

Workin_on_it; I joined the site under the same name, projectAWDeagle..

Sweet, I'm in Port Alberni on the island... The Talon is a work in progress.. I'm gonna finish soon!!

Airpoppoff: He drives his car, with the taillights that he wants. You drive your car, not his, why are you worrying about other people. Should we all drive the same car looking exactly the same way?

OK, ive done the search and found nothing but inconclusive info on the skyline style tail light conversion. I'm not rich enuf to afford 500 + for a talight job, but i'm sure some of u have seen this sick pic of the white dsm with this done...and i want to add a lil spice to the look of my car after my metallic black paintjob (or at the same time) , SO , who knows whats up with these and can it just be done with the correct vinyl sticker type application creating 2 circles on each set of the tail light peice, then the same for the center peice, filll in some gaps, etc? anyone?

any info would be greatly appreciated, and i dont need to hear any " u drive a dsm not a nissan" comments LOL :p , but thanks.

you could make it look like those tails...but for some reason im thinking you wont be able to see the turn signals anymore. if i remember right, the turn signals are out farther to the sides and those circles would be closer to the middle...

hmm, yeh, i wonder if a set up like the line under the circles in that pic would be possible for signals?, or anyone have an idea what exactly was done to that car?

thanks

ok so did he buy a couple a r33 tails and do some custom fiberglass or what? is there another way? like just covering the light and leave two circles and a strip, and how much would that conversion run me??

thanks

i heard taboo was supposed to have that setup in the works, but i went to their site and they switched pages, and i dont see any info on them..?

i dunno about that, that guy trashed me pretty hard for having a supra tail light conversion. Its not easy, you would have to cut alot of metal, not only the outside but inside as well to make clearance depending on how deep the skyline lights are. then you smooth out the cuts youve made by grinding, finish off the opening with glass (bumper) and bondo or body filler to have a nice smooth line to match up to the bodylines. next you would have to fabricate something to fill in where the eclipse centerpiece used to be. Then you have to blend that part into the rear bumper for it to look correct, then find some way to mount the lights. then you gotta figure out wiring which isn't too difficult.

Here is another pic of that same car:

taboo abandoned all non-performance oriented parts (thank god) mainly because he was tired of getting e-mails every day about "when will these be done"

hmm shitty...is there any other sources i could try for these...or any one who has done a vinly cover or any other method out there???

LOL sorry mavisky, i didn't mean it in a literal angry way, i meant it like...hmm thats sucks....i just have a bad vocabulary i guesse, i wasn't trying t be negative, but i'll make sure to respond more positively, with less profanity, my bad LOL :)

if you do a tail light conversion, about 1/4 of people will flame the sh#t outta you and say you're trying to have something you don't (even if you have a firm grip on reality and just want an eclipse with a tail light conversion.) another 1/4 will tell you its the sweetest looking thing going and you need more stickers on the car and a big wing. Another 1/4 will be too ignorant to understand how different it is and why its a big deal, and the last quarter will respect it even if its not their style because it takes large amounts of time and labor... good luck!

yes, very well sais, and i know this, i've read alot of flames on other taillight conversion question, but thank you, so far there are more ppl in the last 1/4 who just respect it for the time and effort even if its not there thing...and hey, cummon the 1ga tails could use some work LOL, and that white car looks tiiiiight LOL

i got supra tails on mine, granted i didn't do 100% of the work personally, but i can tell you exactly how it ws done if youre serious about this. first thing i'd do is locate R33 lights and get them to your door. two other good choices would be 91 integra tail lights (the red and white ones), 97+ prelude tail lights. :thumb:
