charlottetown,
I am trying to remove my stock sidemount to clean it. However I am about to tear my hair out trying to get to the top bolt on the intercooler. How in the hell do you get to it?? I was going to try and remove the headlight but it doesent want to come out very easily either, and i dont want to scratch the paint.

Any reccomendations?

Thanks,
Ryan

Don't remove the headlight. Instead, pop out the small sidemarker light and go in from there or from underneath with the sidemarker removed. It's a pain, but it works.

Hope that helps,

Andy

I don't remember the SMIC being attached anywhere but from the underside of the fenderwall area. There should be a total of 3 or 4 12mm bolts holding that bad boy in. Also, you cannot simply unbolt your headlight from the top of your car. There is a hidden bolt on the bottom of the headlight that you can't see. You will have to remove the bumper to get to it, or locate and find it to finessse it out.

Yah I figured out the headlight has another bolt earlier today. There are three bolts total holding on the smic two on the bottom that were easy to get to and the one on the top thats hard as all hell to get to. I guess I am just going to have to go and pick up another case of beer and keep trying to get at it through the side marker hole.

And also once I go to put it back on would it be a big deal if I just left the top bolt unbolted?? I cant even imagine what it would be like trying to put it back on

thanks,
Ryan

Sure you would. The other two will hold it just fine and you'll never have to deal with that pesky upper bolt again.

Hang in there,

Andy
