I kept getting a maf cel code 12 and the car wouldnt rev past 2k so I traced it down to the wiring in my maft. Now theres no cel for code 12 or any code at all and I have maf reading on my logger but the car just shuts off after about 5 seconds of idling and then I can hear the mpi/fp relay click while periodically the red led on my maft box blinks once... what be the cause? Im about to get another relay from the junkyard and ive checked in the ecu already everything looks good no leaky caps or burnt traces... help appreciated greatly!! :)

**EDIT**

Just went and got a new relay and the same problem still occurs. Im somewhat stumped here. It just runs for a seconds and shuts off. I can sometimes keep it running if I feather the throttle. No check engine light anymore. The cel would illuminate immediately before even after being cleared out by mmcd. Ideas??

The maft box could be a problem with a red light blinking.

I think im going to take it out and completely rewire the whole harness. Everything is wired up properly now already tho I went thru it last night tracing each wire back and they all checked out fine once I repaired a couple connections. The weird part is that the maft was fine before the sensor started throwing codes then suddenly the maft box didnt light up anymore when the key is turned. Now it lights when it should and my maf shows a reading in mmcd. I just dont see the leds up for throttle input not sure if they do unless you are moving.

I had a maft but the box could be bad, could be a bad code still in the ecu did you clear it? Do you have a good maf sensor.

I have two maf sensors to switch between. Both get the same results. Yes I have cleared the code via mmcd using test mode. I have been suspecting the box as well. This car is somewhat of a wiring mess, I got it a couple months back for a great price and found that it has a 1990 engine harness and ecu in a 94 chassis with a 6 bolt engine. All was fine before this issue.
