Should my MBC be leaking/blowing out air?

I have a cheapy ebay $25 dollar manual boost controller and I noticed after I did my 2g mani plus turbo/O2 porting and new downpipe the boost controller has a tiny hole on the side of it that blows out air when the cars running...It blows enough air that you can hear it with the motor running/hood open. Is this normal, the car runs and pulls great.

its normal for ball and spring controllers to have a tiny hole in them to prevent signal lock

shouldn't be too big though - maybe you should tell us what boost controller you are running also

I tryed to post a pic but could not figure it, but yea it is a cheap ebay type, the hole the air comes out of is very small, it looks like it is supposed to be there.
If I buy a Joep or even a better one , do those also leak air?????????/

Joe is a very good friend of mine. His BCs also have the small vent hole. Buy one of his, he'll stand by it with any problems you may have. Although, you won't. :) There are so many imitators now, you have to be careful.

Thanks for the info, and yes Union it does suck not blow, my mistake, wierd I never noticed it sucking in my old eclipse, I am going to get another one anyway, I have to use tools to adjust it all the time especialy like now while Im adding mods. Thanks Again

I have a turbo xs and when I turn up the boost I can here it either sucking or leaking and it goes away when I tighten the setscrew down, is this normal? The air sounds like it is comeing from the setscrew.

Air escape in almost any MBC is normal. Thats how they work, they bleed off boost so that the wastegate sees less of it. This bled off boost is sent out of the controller into the air. Completely normal, unless you are waaaay overboosting.

fug it - all you kids need to just pull the vaccuum line from your WG - it'll be less trouble for you :p
