the pin numbers between my rods are al about the same....149.3...149.3......149.5...149.9

the big ends are off kinda.

388.5.....388.5.....386.2.....386.1

are they okay?

Manley says on the sheet that their rods are always within 1.5 grams ....these are not

388.5- 386.2= 2.3 difference
if my math is wrong please let me know dont wanna junk up the post

Bro none of them will be exact. When you take your entire rotating assembly to the shop they will remove the excess and make sure everything balances 100%. Nothing SIM nor Manley did is wrong. I got similar numbers on mine and the machine shop had no problem balancing them out.

Actually, the machine shop specifically told me that I should have went with Eagle over Manley as Eagle is usually easier to deal with. Opinion based or not, they build a lot of high hp DSM's.

Well you can send them back and risk the same thing. Or call Manley and see if they will do anything for you. If they do not offer any help, send them back to the guys you bought them from. Or just get them rebalanced its all up to you.

Are you planing a balance shaft removal? If so I would just get them balanced with the pistons and crank.

well I got the manley pistons so I just bought the rods 2...I heard they were good.

so if I build the motor. I just need the block machined and then give them my crank and rods and pistons and they will balance it and then I put it together?

I just saw on their site how they are ALL matched to 1.5...thats like false advertisment right?

they shouldn't send them out if they don't meet what their thing about 1.5 says

Get them balanced with the pistons. Thats how you should properly do it. Having a balanced set of rods means nothing when your crank and pistons arent.

You need to send them the rods, crank, pistons, bearings, crank damper and your clutch setup (if you want to). Then, sure you can put it together.

NO not the clutch. If that was the case, you would need the whole drivetrain. I dont know if a machine shop will balance with the flywheel and pulley though.

388.5.....388.5.....386.2.....386.1

what manley means by balanced with in 1.5g is the rods will be with in 1.5g of the mean weight

so add up the weight of all 4 rods then divide by the number of rods, in your case 4

so 388.5 + 388.5 + 386.2 + 386.1 = 1549.3

then 1549.3 /4 = 387.325
so now all the rods need to fall in the range of 388.825 on the heavy to 385.825 on the light

so your rods are just like manley says...

now to have your engine balanced, take the pulley, crank, flywheel, pressure plate, rods, pistons, ring set and rod bearings

depending on what equipment is used, and what detail the machinist uses then the rods should be with in .2g and the same with the pistons, wrist pins will be brought with in .1g and place with the piston it needs to go with .

then the flywheel and pulley will be spun and balanced as a unit, then the Pressure plate wi;; be installed and spun and indexed to the flywheel.

bogussvo, will you come up here and machine and balace my engine?LOL you really know your stuff:thumb:
