should i get my car tuned by a shop?

right now my car is untuned, you can see the mods in my profile. ive never tuned before and id like to have someone who knows what theyre doing do it first so i can learn. How much of a gain am i looking at by having my car professionally tuned? I was thinkin about have Turbo Trix do it, theyre like an hour and a half away and can do an hour for 150$
 
DON'T DO IT! Your mods:
Big 16g Fully Ported w/34mm flapper mod, full hard IC piping, 1G BOV, intake, MBC, 2.5in downpipe & test pipe, 3 inch catback exhaust, Ported O2 housing w/external dump, ACT 2600,XACT Flywheel, S-AFC, RC 550cc Injectors, 255 Walbro HP, palm datalogger

That's the setup of probably half the people on here. You have tons of knowledgable tuners on here that can help you out. And you already have a palm datalogger. Tuning isn't a one time thing. It can change with different gas (higher octane), weather, different new mods. So if you learn how to do it yourself, then you won't have to pay someone everytime to do it for you. And 150 is a lot to fork over when you can do it yourself. You can get it pretty well tuned with the logger, or if you've got some extra cash, then get a wideband and it will be that much easier. I just got the LM-1 wideband kit (spent about $500 on it) and love it.

There is a lot of horsepower to be made by just tuning. On our eclipse dyno day, one of our guys picked up 11whp by leaning things out 5% using the wideband (big16g, 550cc, gst car). But I recommend learning to do it yourself.

Read as much as you can on here about it. Set up the low safc settings first using the logger and stft and ltft. Then do 3rd gear WOT runs logging rpm, tps, timing, o2 voltage. Post the logs up on here and people will help you out.
