Never thought I would be the idiot typing this thread, but here I am....
I was drilling out a busted exhaust manifold stud, and as I was backing the tap out, coolant came out with it.... :barf: (literally, I barfed)
So now, the only Benny I can find here is the chance to get a new head and block. There was an ebay seller that had a ton of blocks and heads together only for around $560 or so, but I cant find that guy. Ive done alot of looking and Ive decided to fall back on my brethren. Where do you guys know that I can find a good head and block for a steal? And I'm talking about reliable as well now, I'm not shopping for a pacesetter header ROFL , any help or advice is apprecited, and a thread will be started with pics and and Ill probably make a movie before this is over with. Let me know what you know.

Um put in a new stud using a little sealant on the threads. Lots of bolts and studs go into the water jacket...

when you say sealant, you mean , hi temp rtv or what? And it didnt go completely through the jacket, youre right, I probably could patch it up. I was fairly hammered last night after this happened, friends dont let friends post drunk ROFL . I just cant beleive all of this started from finding a leak at the manifold.

lemme know what you think.

Something like PFTE (teflon) pipe dope or Loctite 518. I use the teflon stuff at work and it seals fine with 110 psi behind it. I'd try to clean the coolant off as best as you can, apply it to the stud and run it in.

I have used even RTV and it has sealed..

The pipe dope is a good option.. Teflon tape works to if you know to wrap it in the right direction and has the potential to be less messy.

what stud was it, middle stud bottom row right? If so then there is a coolant passage behind it. Just Seal up the new stud and run her on in there and you will be good to go
